After four long months of working out the kinks and balancing things out on testnet, we are going live with Tezotopia Battles on May 04, 2022.
We appreciate the patience of the entire community as we had intended to launch on December 25, 2021; we were over-ambitious and missed the launch date simply because battles were not to a point we wanted them.
Now, we feel confident Tezotopia—in all its intended glory—is ready for prime time.
Our first step has been to launch the new and improved UI; a stark contrast to the old app: it is now mobile-friendly, modal-free, modernized, and ready to be shown off. But, as we always wish to improve, please send over your feedback to our #suggestions channel on Discord.
Ready For Prime Time
This quarter a major focus of our marketing efforts is to build a bridge to Ethereum—not only in the form of an NFT bridge, but a community bridge. A lot of our efforts in the coming weeks will be to educate Ethereum NFT investors on the advancements of Tezos and Tezotopia in general. We will be joining AMA sessions with ETH-related projects, doing collabs on Decentraland, and creating materials to ease the transition from ETH to XTZ.
Our motivation for this marketing push into Ethereum is that TVL on Tezos is far behind that of EVM and we’re very aware of the fact that as a Tezos Silo we can’t grow very much. We’ve heard the comment many times over from our P2E colleagues on other chains, “If you were on an ETH sidechain you’d be doing 100x more transactions.” —but don’t worry, we’re not going anywhere.
We’re bringing them to us. It will take months-long efforts, creative marketing strategies, and the right partnerships to bring a whole new player and investor base into the Tezos Ecosystem; onboarding tools, helpful tutorials, and a welcoming community presence will be the keys to winning new investors for the long term.
This time next year there will be many Token Bridges built from other chains into Tezos—hell, we may even have USDC by then; beginning the journey to bridge over the EVM community starts with us and we want to be leaders of this initiative.
The excitement of what our P2E battle component brings to the future of Tezotopia is great and all, but if we are not doing the most to onboard new players and investors, this cannot be sustained. Creating an ecosystem of games that share our resource tokens has and will always been our plan, but funneling in new users from crypto communities beyond Tezos is now becoming our #1 mission to sustain long term growth.
We’re proud of what we’ve built in the span of a year: we’ve come from scrambled NFT drops on Kalamint to, now, seamless NFT drops and a whole battle engine built for our needs in the matter of a year.
May 4th marks the anniversary of the Genesis Block NFT being dropped; this May 4th we go to war and we invite everybody to partake in the fun.
Great work. Can't wait to partake. May the forth be with you
