As our user base grows and demand for Tezotopia NFTs rise; we are going to do the most immediate thing to remedy some of the things we’ve been plagued with such as multi-account sniping, and First Come First Serve (FCFS) bot-sniping the second artifacts are listed on the marketplace.
With raffletopia we tested out several options and learned that 20-minute warning for raffles + an average 8 minute length for the raffle was substantial time for most users to jump in and have an opportunity to win. It also surprised multi-accounters enough with such short notice to delay them. The pool of winners was much more diverse. The longer warning, the more likely it got multied (new word). The shorter the raffle timeframe, and everyone basically lost out because block times and laggy wallets screwed some users. We are still exploring other ways to stall multi-accounts.
With FCFS, the problem was horrendous. Every artifact was quickly sniped by botters, the only opportunity was when we released 100+ artifacts, then normal users had a chance to snag an item. We’ve since stopped FCFS for a long while.
The problem that has plagued both: individuals bought items simply to flip them, not ever having the intention of using them. And so we’ve been left with a multitude of tickets being held and unused to mint their land because of this.
We are bringing back FCFS this week. It will feature a captcha system, and also only be intended for users that will actually use them. 194 ticket holders, 775+ unused tickets floating around, it has gotten way out of hand.
Our solution: Ticket holders will be whitelisted for FCFS; those holding tickets to mint will be whitelisted and for the first 10 minutes will be the only ones allowed to buy, after 10 minutes any unsold items will be open to the public. FCFS will also include a captcha system each time a purchase is initiated to deter bot sniping.
FCFS drops will be announced at least 24 hours in advance.
As for Raffletopia…we love Raffletopia too much to totally ditch it. Raffletopia will return. It will be open to all, using the 20-minute warning setup and 8-minute lengths for each raffle. As I said before, we are exploring way to make Raffletopia less multi-accounty, as well as other ways to distribute artifacts that can’t be built over a couple-weeks span.
We want to give ticket holders the opportunity to snag some artifacts and mint their lands, this way forward discourages secondary price hikes, sniping, and encourages the use of tickets to create new land.
We hope this solution resolves those issues that has plagued us as our NFTs grow in demand.
We won’t stop here of course, as we seek to eventually create a system where users can stake to mint their artifacts, as well when battles launch, players can unlock artifacts in lootboxes; we know acquiring artifacts solely on primary sales isn’t a scalable system, we will remedy this and hope you bear with us as we keep exploring alternatives that make sense in the interim.
Great news. To $gifinity and beyond...
